Early signs of autism can sometimes be detected as early as 12 months, especially with children with more noticeable traits, our team are qualified to assess as young as 12 months which can help identify developmental concerns and allow for early intervention, but we would recommend a reassessment if an autism assessment was carried out at the age of 12 months. However, we do recommend waiting until the age of 2 years once enough developmental information is available making the assessment more reliable.
You do not need a GP referral to have a private assessment. Our pre-screening consultation will determine whether your child needs a full autism assessment. For further information please read our autism assessments page.”
